Miriam Oliver Dail Baker, 76, died July 21, 1998, in Obici Hospital. 
A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of the late Junius Lee and Berta Davis Oliver. She was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church. 
Survivors include her husband, C. Bruce Baker; her daughter, Jean Dail Cecil of Suffolk; her sons, Henry Lee Dail, his wife, Sheila, of Richmond, R. Linwood Dail Sr., his wife, Lana Sue, of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Russell Dail Jr., Lee Dail, Angela Cecil Andrews, and Marissa Erpelding; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Oliver Nielsen, her husband, Kay, of Suffolk, Annie Mae Oliver Heffington, her husband, Carlton, of Suffolk. She was predeceased by two brothers, E. Lee Oliver and William E. Oliver. 
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Liberty Spring Christian Church by the Rev. Tommy Reynolds with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in The R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
