Obituary of Joseph G. "Joe" Darden JOSEPH G. DARDEN Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, November 9, 2001 Joseph G. ``Joe'' Darden, 72, died Nov. 7, 2001, in Autumn Care. Born in Carrsville, he was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Johnson Darden. He was retired from G&G Farm Service and a member of Community Hunt Club. Survivors include his children; five sisters, Hazel Johnson of Carrsville, Nell Kauss of Hunterdale, Victoria Leake of Chesapeake, Lucille Blanchard of Edenton, N.C., and Martha Ann Bradshaw of Newsoms; six brothers, Willie Darden of Holland, Sam Darden of Franklin, Clifton Darden of Suffolk, James Darden of Richmond, Philip Darden of Franklin and Clayton Darden of Hunterdale; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Blanche Darden; and two brothers, Elmer Darden Jr. and Roy Darden. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
