Mills William "Buck" Darden Jr., 85, a retired farmer and maintenance worker, died March 4, 1991, in a Franklin nursing home. 

Mr. Darden, a native Isle of Wight County, had retired from Lipton Tea Co. He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church. 

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn D. Tomlin of Carrsville; a son, William I. Darden of Suffolk; a sister, Sadie D. Benton of Windsor; and three grandchildren. 

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Holland-Rideout Funeral Home, Franklin. Burial will be in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home and other times at the home of Carolyn Tomlin.
