She was the beloved wife of 51 years of the late William Goldie Darden. She was the loving mother of six daughters, Doris D. Hill and Glenn D. Taylor of Franklin, Sandra D. Cook of Newsoms, Minnie D. Lankford of Carrsville, Mae D. Whitmore and Joyce D. Buhls of Suffolk. She was predeceased by three sons, William C. Darden, Thomas R. Darden and James A. Darden, and one son-in-law, Roy C. Hill. Other survivors include one sister, Sadie J. March of Carrsville; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where she served in various capacities and was a special person to all. Her remains rest at Holland-Rideout Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Sandra Cook at 26558 Meherrin Road. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Bill Presley and Rev.
