Obituary of James Henry Daughtrey JAMES HENRY DAUGHTREY Donated Obit - 02-09-2005 FRANKLIN - James Henry Daughtrey, 84, died Feb. 9, 2005 at Obici Hospital in Suffolk. Born in Nansemond County, he was a son of the late Robert Soloman and Annie Lou Steinhardt Daughtrey. Mr. Daughtrey was a retired inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church whre he was the oldest ordained deacon. He was a past president of the Forks of the River Hunt Club. He was a 50-year Mason and a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge No 151 AF&AM. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lois D. Daughtery; a daughter, Susan d. Lassiter of Newsoms; a son, James R. Daughtrey of Richmond; and four grandchildren, Jason L. Holloman, Carla A. Lassiter, Joshua C. Lassiter, and Rachel K. Lassiter. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Sue Spencer; and a brother, Robert J.H. Daughtrey. A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. M. Reginald Warren officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Mrs. June Duck, 27351 Delaware Road, Franklin, VA. 23851.
