IVOR - Wayne Elwood Davis, 60, of Broadwater Road, died May 13, 2005, at his home. Born Jan. 29, 1945, he was the son of the late Melvin Lewis Davis and Mabel Gertrude Pittman Davis. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1992 after 31 yers of service and was a member of Ivor Bapitst Church.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Jackson Davis; two daughters, Robin Elizabeth Davis os Suffolk and Nancy Davis Duck and her husband Stephen of Carrsville; a stepson Brian Lupton and his wife Kim; a stepgranddaughter, Le Kenna Lupton, all of Wasnington state; and a brother, Ralph O. Davis and his wife Georgia of South Hill. Wayne was predeceased by a brother Mel Davis.

A graveside funeral will be held in Ivor Cemetery Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Gupton officiating. The family will be at the residence to receive friends. Memorial donations may be sent to the Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
