Pearl Dawson Davis died March 8, 2004, at her residence. Born in
Trenton, N.C., and a resident of Courtland since 1944, she was a
daughter of the late Major and Maggie Lee Boyette Dawson and the widow
of Ezra W. Davis. She was a graduate of Trenton High School and Kirbys
Academy of Beauty Culture. Mrs. Davis was a member of Courtland United
Methodist Church and its Mary Cobb Missionary Circle.
Survivors include a son, William Dawson "Billy" Davis and wife Susan of
Franklin; a grandson, William Russell Davis of Franklin; a
great-granddaughter, Shea Mary Lynn Crum; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Riverside
Cemetery , Courtland , with the Rev. Kay Barstow Gentry officiating. The
family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday and suggests that memorials be made to Courtland Rescue Squad,
P.O. Box 439, Courtland , VA 23837.
