Ann Dickerson Kello, 88, passed away April 29, 2004, at John Randolph
Nursing Home in Hopewell, Va. Born in Sussex County April 24, 1916, she
was the daughter of the late Charlie A. Dickerson and Ruth Hawkins
Dickerson. Mrs. Kello owned and managed the Windsor Tastee Freez for 16
years and was a member of Windsor Baptist Church where she attended
Sunday school for 25 years without missing a Sunday and was treasurer of
the L.P. Deans Bible Class for 22 years. She was the wife of the late J.
Earle Kello for 54 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Frances Daugherty and husband
Mike and Katie Kee Kello Alexander and husband Richard, both of Chester;
son, John Wayne Kello of Windsor; seven grandchildren; and 17
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Charles Thomas
Kello and Joseph Earle Kello Jr.; one granddaughter, Kay Daugherty;
daughter-in-law, Janet Kello; two sisters, Lou Ellsworth and Sula
Fannin; and five brothers, Charlie A. Dickerson Jr., Clarence Dickerson,
Jessie F. Dickerson, Richard "Dick" M. Dickerson, William "Bill" E.
Dickerson and Lewis Wyatt "Buddy" Dickerson.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Purviance Funeral Home
Chapel, Wakefield. Interment will follow in Windsor Cemetery , Windsor.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30
p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Volunteer Fire Dept.
