Obituary of James Judson Dixon JAMES JUDSON DIXON Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, February 15, 1998 James Judson Dixon, 75, died Feb. 13, 1998, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mr. Dixon, a native of Hertford County, N.C., was a son of the late Earl Abram and Lula Adams Dixon and the widower of Adlene ``Lena'' D. Dixon. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the 82nd Airborne Division in the European theater. He had retired from the paper mill division of Union Camp Corp. after 30 years of service and currently was maintenance supervisor at Southampton Academy. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Gail D. Whitley and grandson, Judson Everett Whitley, both of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Dick ``Tootsie'' Bennett of Murfreesboro, N.C., Mrs. Roberta Liverman of Winton, N.C.; two brothers, William Dixon and Stanley Dixon, both of Murfreesboro. He was predeceased by a sister, Fannie Lee Britt. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home at 7 p.m. today and other times at the residence at 31070 Arber Road.
