Obituary of Robert Samuel Dixon ROBERT SAMUEL DIXON Virginian Pilot  12-29-2003 SUFFOLK  Robert Samuel Dixon, 81, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003. Born June 13, 1922, he was a son of the late Ethel Lorraine Beale and Walter Samuel Dixon. He was a Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Dixon was a charter member and life deacon of Wilroy Baptist Church and a member of the XYZ Adult II Sunday School Class. He was a charter member of Nansemond Masonic Lodge 77. Mr. Dixon retired after 37 years of service with Virginia Power as a service technician. Mr. Dixon was a former member of the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marion Johnson Dixon, three daughters, Sandra D. Ray of Camden. N.C., Linda D. Howard of Bryantown, Md., and Wendy D. Rhoads of Falling Waters, W.Va.; a brother, Russell L. Dixon of Grandy, N.C.; six grandchildren, Andrew B. Rountree, Cheri R. Brown, Ryan D. Rhoads, Kimberly R. Rhoads, Matthew B. Howard and Mary J. Howard; a step-granddaughter, Karen Ray; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Wilroy Baptist Church by the Rev.
