Obituary of EDWARD ELISHA DUKE  
1908 – 12-14-1992  

Edward E. Duke, 83, of the 200 block of Porter Road, a retired crane operator, died Dec. 14, 1992, in a Portsmouth hospital.  

Mr. Duke was born in Suffolk. He was the widower of Daisy Draper Duke. He had retired from the city of Portsmouth and was a member of Port Norfolk Baptist Church.  
Survivors include a son, Edward J. Duke of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Terry M. Duke and Cathy D. Harris, both of Portsmouth; and one great-grandchild, James Ryan Duke of Chesapeake.  
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Meadowbrook. Memorial Gardens by the Rev. S.E. Hathaway III. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel.  
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Port Norfolk Baptist Church.
