LOUISE E. DUKE

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 28, 2000 

Louise E. Duke, 92, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000. 

Miss Duke was a native of Isle of Wight County and graduated from Carrsville High School and Longwood College. She was a very active and dedicated member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Duke, a brother, John F. ``Jack'' Duke and her sister, Elizabeth E. Duke. Survivors include a niece by choice, Phyllis K. Story and husband, Gilbert, of Edenton, N.C.; and cousins, Bobby and Duke Bradsher of Oxford, N.C., and Peggy Brugh of Suffolk. 

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church by Dr. Richard Peerey. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 3593 Carrsville Hwy., Franklin VA 23851 or Carrsville Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box, Carrsville VA 23315. Holland-Rideout Funeral Home, Franklin, is in charge of arrangements.
