Obituary of L.D. Dunlow LD DUNLOW Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, October 24, 2006 NEWPORT - L.D. Dunlow, 69, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Dunlow served in the National Guard during the Vietnam conflict. Originally from Franklin, he moved to Morehead City in the early 70s to open Heilig Myers Furniture Store in downtown Morehead City and came back in his retirement years. He attended Grace Baptist Church on Hibbs Road in Newport. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie Dunlow of Newport; daughter, Judy D. Council and husband James of Franklin; two sons, Ricky Dunlow and wife Heather of Zebulon and Brian Dunlow and wife Betty of Mill Creek, N.C.; grandchildren, Scotty Dunlow, Kenny Dunlow, Ryne Dunlow, Stephaine Dunlow and Mark Lokie "Big L" Dunlow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maggie Dunlow; and two brothers, Robert J. Dunlow and Thomas Earl Dunlow. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Chuck Worth of True Word Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City and also prior to the service in Virginia at Wright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3015 S. Memorial Drive, Greenville, NC 27834 or to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
