   SUFFOLK  James Howard Durden Sr., 68, died June 14, 2002. Born Sept. 9, 1933 in Augusta, Ga., he was the son of the late Irene and Pierce Alton Durden. Mr. Durden retired from Wackenhut Security.
   Survivors include his wife, Mildred Rae Myers Durden; two sons, James H. Durden Jr., and wife Lora Vann, William A. Durden Sr. and wife, Brenda G. of Suffolk; three grandchildren, William A. Jr., Angela Lynnette and Jamie Leigh Durden; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Durden of Virginia Beach.
   A funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Stewart McCarter with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at 604 Constance Woods Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434.
