SUFFOLK - Kathleen "Katy" Earhart Carter, 64, died March 27, 2006, at
Obici Hospital.

Born Oct. 25, 1941, in Phoebus, Va., she was the daughter of the late
Isidore and Kathleen Wikman Earhart and was preceded in death by her
son, Kenneth Francis Carter; sisters, Louise Foster, Janice Angel;
and brothers, Joseph, Robert and Charles Earhart. She was employed at
Lipton Tea.

Survivors include her husband, Francis Ivan Carter; son, Cecil Scott
Carter of Highpoint, N.C.; sisters, Viola Wood, Isabel O'Keefe and
Margaret Mingee, all of Hampton; grandma's miracle, Adam Jacob
Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in
Holly Lawn Cemetery by her nephew, the Rev. Brian C. Gary. The family
will receive friends at her home. Memorial contributions may be made
to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, VA,
23439. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the
