Edwards Sr., 71, a resident of Virginia Ave., died Monday, May 23, 1994, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk. A native of Momeyer, N.C., Mr. Edwards was the husband of the late Cleo Griffin Edwards. He had been employed as a loom repairman at Boykins Narrow Fabrics for the past 31 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post (NU)276, Boykins. He was son of the late L.T.G. and Mrs. Donnie Hinton Edwards. Mr. Edwards is survived by a son, Paul A. Edwards Jr.; a daughter, Linda E. Beatty; three grandchildren, Shane Beatty, Jonna Edwards and Gretchen Edwards, all of Boykins; two brothers, Woodrow Edwards of Portsmouth and John Edwards of Momeyer, N.C.; and three sisters, Joyce Abernathy of Wilmington, N.C., Annie Leppla and Nancy Jackson, both of Momeyer, N.C. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 1994, at Boykins United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Gochenour and the Rev. Donna Marie Foos. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will be at the residence of Paul A. Edwards Jr., 33291 Pinecrest Drive, Boykins.
