VIRGINIA BEACH - Annie Ellis Harcum, of the 5400 block of Menteith
Court, passed away May 2, 2005, at a local hospital. Born in Nansemond
County, VA. Mrs. Harcum was the widow of Jack S. Harcum. She was of
Baptist faith and devoted her life to loving and caring for her family
and she will be missed by them. She is survived by two daughters,
Carolyn Vann Eeckhoute and husband Don of Chesapeake and Brenda Harcum
and husband Robert of Virginia Beach; a son, Thomas Lane and wife
Phyllis of Tyner, N.C.; four grandchildren, Tammy Grunkemeyer and
husband Joe of Lorton, Va., Victoria Doheny and husband Michael of
Suffolk, Rhonda Hubler of Chesapeake, John Hubler and Deana of Virginia
Beach, three great-grandchildren, Jada, Jordan and Nathan; and many
special nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her
father and mother, Willie John and Victoria Wilkins Ellis; her sisters,
Lenore Fulcher and Gertie Mae Beasley; and brothers, Archie, John,
George, Bennie and Robert Ellis. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Thursday at Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, with the
Rev. Keith Willyard officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Cedar
Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends today from 5:30
to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent
to Kempsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, Ruritan Court, Virginia Beach, Va.
