Elsie Worsham Ellis, 77, died Sunday, March 26, 1995, at Obici Hospital, Suffolk.  

Mrs. Ellis was a native of Powhatan County and was the widow of Walter Franklin Ellis. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Petersburg United Methodist Church.  

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley E. Whitley of Franklin, Gracie E. Woodruff of Portsmouth and Nancy E. Patterson of Harwood, Md.; one son, Walter B. Ellis of Portsmouth; one stepsister, Mary Goldy of Petersburg; one aunt, Nora Worsham of Powhatan; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 1995 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. E. Cecil Smith. The burial will be at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and other times at the home of Shirley Whitley, 33477 Old Nottoway Road, Franklin. Memorial donations may be made to the Smithfield Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Smithfield, Va. 23431.
