Obituary of Eugene Frank Griffin, Sr. EUGENE FRANK GRIFFIN VA.PILOT  02-18-2002 PORTSMOUTH  Eugene Frank Griffin, Sr., 79, of the 3900 block of Town Point Road, died Feb. 16 at his home. A native of Boykins, he was retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard Shop 17. Mr. Griffin was a member of Sweethaven Baptist Church, the Portsmouth Mid-Day Masonic Lodge 100 and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Alice Virginia Griffin; two daughters, Phyllis Liebold and husband Chuck of Kissimmee, Fla. And Debbie Upton and husband Eddie of Chesapeake; two sons, Eugene F. Griffin, Jr. of Chesapeake and Charles E. Griffin and wife Lu of Portsmouth; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister. A funeral was held Feb. 19 in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Damon E. Wyatt.
