SUFFOLK - Jacquelyn Brown Evans, 79, of the 100 block of Club Road, died Friday, July 20, 2001, in Maryview Medical Center. 
A native of Scotland Neck, N.C., she moved to Suffolk at an early age. She was the widow of John Bruce Evans and a member of Oxford United Methodist Church. 
Survivors include her son, John B. Evans Jr. and his wife, Chrys, of Suffolk; three sisters, Sue Underwood and Julia Bell Benton, both of Suffolk, and Billie Brown of Henrico County, Va.; two grandchildren, Beth Munford of Williamsburg and Clara Cabaniss of Apex, N.C. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Eric Evans. 
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, at 1 p.m. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
