Obituary of RAYMOND FREDERICK FAHY The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - December 19, 1993 Raymond Fred Fahy, 97, of 34173 Cedarcrest Lane, died Dec. 17, 1993. Mr. Fahy was born in Wallis, Idaho, on July 22, 1896, to John Timothy O'Fahey and Laura Augusta McKinney. He was reared in Barron/Lancaster, Wisconsin. As a young man, Mr. Fahy worked as a ranch hand in Montana. At the age of 19, he answered the call of his country and served in the Navy during World War I as a radioman. After the war, he returned to Montana as a homesteader. Later he began his career of 45 years with General Electric Co. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He sent for Jane Cosgriffe of Harlowton, Montana, who became his wife on Friday, October 13, 1922. They were married for 62 years. Together they developed Cedarcrest Dairy Farm with a herd of 50 Registered Golden Guernseys. They were the parents of three children: William, born in Minneapolis; Sally Jane, born in Youngstown, Ohio, and Raymond, Jr., born in Cleveland, Ohio. During the Depression years, a boyhood friend, Clair Johnston, encouraged the Fahys to visit the Franklin area. They stayed to establish Cedarcrest Dairy Farm. Mr. Fahy was retired from General Electric as a foreman of the Miniature Lamp Department. He was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church, Forks of the River Ruritan Club, and Cypress Cove Country Club. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Musselshell Lodge of Harlowton, Montana. Survivors include one daughter: Sally Fahy Fowler of Albany, Ga., five grandchildren: Dr. Kevin Fowler and David Fowler both of Atlanta, Ga. Dr. Scott Fowler of Augusta, Ga., Todd Fowler of Albany, Ga., and Jane Elizabeth Fowler of New York, New York, five great-grandchildren: Kathryn, Benjamin, Lisa, Laura, and Patrick.
