Burgess "Bird" Ferrell Sr., 61, of the 24000 block of Elizabeth Court,
passed away Jan. 26, 2004. Born in Mingo County, W.Va., he was the son
of the late Richard and Nancy Mahon Ferrell. He was a maintenance
supervisor at Golden Peanut Company for 27 years.
He will be sadly missed by two daughters, Betty F. LeSueur and husband,
Emmett of Suffolk, Paula F. Baines and husband, Michael Byrd of Knotts
Island, N.C.; two sons, Burgess Ferrell Jr. and wife, Brenda of Ivor,
Va., and Richard D. Ferrell and wife, Patricia of Windsor; two brothers,
Emmitt Ferrell and Neil Ferrell of Pleasant Hill, N.C.; four loving
grandchildren, Kara LeSueur, Cassie Baines, Daniel and Luke Ferrell; and
four step-grandchildren, Samantha Humphries and Tomas, Ricky and Angela
Carrillo-Sanchez.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Windsor Cemetery
. Friends may join the family at the home of his daughter, Betty, 302 S.
Broad St., Suffolk, following the service. Harrell and Hill Funeral
Home, Suffolk, is serving the family.
