SUFFOLK Elizabeth Rawls Folk Poole, a native of Nansemond County, died Jan. 16, 2001.
Mr. Poole was the daughter of the late Junius W. and Cleopatra Rawls Folk and was the widow of Thomas A. Poole. She retired after 42 years of teaching for the Nansemond Countys School System. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, Holland Road, The Ladies Star Class, the Staley Circle, and the Senior Citizen Fellowship Club. She was also a member of the Chancel Choir for many years; a fromer church treasurer; the Suffolk Womens Club; and a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Survivors include her sister, Louise F. Bryant Joyner of Suffolk; nieces, Patricia B. Wise of Suffolk, nieces, Patricia B. Wise of Suffolk, Anne C. Filer of Virginia Beach, Betty C. Starrette of Chesapeake; nephews, John Arthur Cutchin of Portsmouth, David W. Cutchin of Norfolk, Richard A. Cutchin of Manns Harbor; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews and great-great nieces and -nephews.
A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Jonathan Palmer with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence of Mrs. Joyner at 107 Joyner St., Suffolk.
Contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Christian Church Building Fund, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, Va. 23434. Hill Funeral Home is serving the family.
