Obituary of Floyd Quinton Fowler FLOYD QUINTON FOWLER Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, December 20, 1998 Floyd Quinton ``Pop'' Fowler, 69, died Dec. 18, 1998. Born April 23, 1929, in Isle of Wight County, he was a son of the late James Norfleet and Mattie Boyce Fowler. Pop, who worked for St. Regis Paper Co. for 10 years, retired from Union Camp Corp. in 1992 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Bronco Rod and Gun Club. Pop was a member of Hunterdale United Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Barnes Fowler; two daughters, Cheryl Fowler Baldwin of Richmond and Robin Fowler Edwards and her husband, Michael, of Franklin; two stepdaughters, Betty Hawks of Carson, Va., and Angela Piersa of Courtland; two sons, Steve Fowler and his wife, Sandra, of Newsoms and Norfleet Fowler of Franklin; a stepson, Johnny Spence of Dedley; three sisters, Virginia Galtress and her husband, George, of Carrsville, Jean Price and her husband, Mervin, of Richmond, and Barbara Forbes of Windsor; seven grandchildren, Tracey Fowler, Stephen Fowler, Ryan Vann, Mandi Edwards, Colby Edwards, Holly Baldwin and Chris Baldwin; six step-grandchildren, Garrett Piersa, Jason Hawks, Andy Hawks, Crystal Hawks, Michael Spence and Tiffany Spence; two step-great-grandsons, Devin Hawks and Blake Hawks. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, James Fowler and Carrol Fowler. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Alan R. Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park .
