Obituary of Henry Edward Fowler Sr. HENRY EDWARD FOWLER The Tidewater News - 02-05-2005 NEWSOMS - Henry Edward Fowler Sr., 87, died Feb. 4 2005, at Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late J.H. "Pete" and Lucille Story Fowler. Mr. Fowler, retired farmer, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and longtime member of Mount Horeb United Methodist Church. Mr. Fowler was a kind, caring, loving husband and father, a man who cared dearly for his family and friends through the years. Survivors include his wife, Arline Spain Fowler; one son, Henry E. Fowler, Jr. and wife Joyce of Newsoms; two step-daughters, Barbara S. Condrey and husband Howard and Kathy S. Stearns and husband Bill, all of Richmond; two stepsons, Tommy Spain and iwfe Dee of Zuni and Kevin Spain and iwfe Lara of Dendron; one sister, Agnes F. McMillian of Suffolk; one brother, W.J. "Monk" Fowler and wife Julia of Newsoms; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Fowler was predeceased by his first wife, Irma Williams Fowler; a sister, Clyde F. Askew; and a brother, Raymond P. Fowler. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Gary Hartman and the Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms.
