(2002) He was a dedicated educator, a servant of his community and spirit-filled member of the secular Franciscan Order. Above all, he loved his family. His most treasured times were spent out in nature with his wife, children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, of 42 years, Marilyn Chapas Friga; two sons, Michael and wife Sarah, Paul and wife Meredith; his daughter, Mary Beth and husband Michael; his grandchildren, Lukas, Madeleine, Grace, Betsy, Jacob and Zachary; his sisters, Barbara and Regina; and his aunt. Wanda. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Nov. 4, Monday in St. Jude Catholic Church followed by a reception at Paul D. Camp Community College Workforce Development Center.
