She was born in Gates County, N.C., a daughter of the late William Jasper and Esther Eure Harrell. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Marjorie G. Webster, two sisters and a brother. Mrs. Galtress was a member of Sedley Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Lois G. McCourt of Hopewell and Jacqueline G. Bradshaw of Courtland; one son, William J. Galtress Sr. and wife Jean of Zuni; one brother, Albert O. Harrell of Franklin; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. David L. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and suggest memorials be made to Sedley Baptist Church, 17494 Johnsons Mill Road, Sedley, VA 23878.
