ANTHONY GARDNER (aka) Michael Anthony ''Tony'' Gardner, 39, of the 100 block of Springfield Terrace, died Sept. 15, 1996, in his home. He was the son of the late Jane Mathias Perry and Alva C. Perry. He was a member of the Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served on the board of deacons and as a trustee. He also was the outpost commander for the Royal Rangers and the conference training coordinator. Survivors include his wife, Shelia Johnson Gardner; a daughter, Casey O'Neil Gardner; two sons, Michael Anthony Gardner Jr., Joseph Andrew Gardner, all of the home; a brother, Bruce Allen Gardner of Suffolk; and a stepbrother, Al Perry of Carrsville. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Norwood Starling, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at R.W. Baker and Co.
