Sarah Arvis Gay Bradshaw , 86, of 18159 Harris Road, passed away on Feb. 1, 1999.
She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and was a member of the East Pavilion Resident Council. She enjoyed writing poetry for friends and had won a National Legacy Archives Award for a short story.
She was the widow of Robert Reginald Bradshaw and the daughter of Elizabeth Wellons and Simon McClause Gay. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth B. Perry of Carrsville and Rubie B. Ehlman and husband, Robert, of Chesapeake; a niece, Joyce Alderman and husband, Clyde, of Franklin; four sons, Reginald L. Bradshaw and wife, Glenda, of Franklin, Edward T. Bradshaw and wife, Kathleen, of Royal Oak, Mich., Samuel G . Bradshaw and wife, Betsy, of Franklin, and M. Dale Bradshaw and wife, Kandie, of Hopewell; 15 grandchildren, Patricia Rideout, Heather Erickson and husband, Martin, Christopher Bradshaw , Courtney Bradshaw , Anthony Ehlman, Amber Ehlman, Arvis Alderman, Holly Bradshaw , Lee Bradshaw , Blair Alderman, Sarah Rose Bradshaw , Ashton Bradshaw , Jordan Bradshaw , Tina Bradshaw and Douglas Bradshaw . She is also survived by a number of other nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Black Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Cribb and the Rev. Wayne Underwood with burial in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home. The family will be at 29139 Holly Run Drive, Carrsville.
