Obituary of Virginia Bradshaw Gibbs VIRGINIA BRADSHAW GIBBS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, August 26, 2001 Virginia Bradshaw Gibbs of Franklin and formerly of Cheriton died Aug. 24, 2001 in East Pavilion, Franklin. Born in Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Cordie Clifton Bradshaw and Nettie Ferguson Bradshaw, and the widow of the Jesse Thornton Gibbs. Mrs. Gibbs was a retired school teacher of Northampton Public Schools and a member of Franklin Baptist Church and Cheriton Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Longwood State Teachers College. She is survived by her daughter, Lou Gibbs Gladden and her husband, Norm, of Cheriton; three sisters, Bertha B. Stillwell of Virginia Beach, Esma B. Worrell of Mechanicsville and Myrtle B. Watson and her husband, Jack, of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gibbs was predeceased by three brothers, Carl, Arron and Hersey Bradshaw. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Cape Charles Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Davis R. Denny and the Rev. Robert E. Lee Trail.
