He was born in Franklin and was a 1999 honor graduate of Franklin High School and a freshman attending Christopher Newport University. An avid bowler who loved the sport, John Worked in the Pro Shop of the Franklin Bowling Center and was a member of the USA Junior Olympic Gold Program and the Junior Scratch Bowlers Association. Survivors include his parents, Alan Edward Glasgow of Franklin and Joan Johnson Pavlina and husband Barry or Courtland; beloved brother and friend, Joseph C. "Jay" Joyner Jr. and wife Nicole of Franklin; half brother, Brian A. Glasgow of Richmond; his paternal grandfather, John Edward Glasgow of Windsor; and his beloved friend, Kelly Bishop. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Rufus and Viola Johnson; and paternal grandmother, Mildred Richard Glasgow. A funeral was conducted March 21, in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Lafayette Wilkins officiating. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
