Obituary of Fenton Richardson Goodrich FENTON RICHARDSON GOODRICH The Tidewater News - 01-12-2005 IVOR - Fenton Richardson Goodrich, 76, of Warrique Road, passed away at his home on Ja. 11, 2005, He was the son of the late Robert B. and Rena R. Goodrich and a native of Surry County. Mr. Goodrich was a retired farmer and an active member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, where he werved as deacon for many years and wa a member of the Elizabeth Eley Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Wakefield Ruritan Club with 25 years of perfect attendance and was honored as Ruritan of the Year in 1979. He was a past member of the Southampton County Farm Bureau Board of Directores and was a past member of the Farmer's Hunt Club. Fenton is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernice Britt Goodrich; two sons, Lynn F. Goodrich and wife Lynn of Ivor and Glynn F. Goodrich and wife Sheryl of Mechanicsville, Va.; a brother, Robert Jerome Goodrich of Carrsville; a greaddaughter, Jordan K. Goodrich of Mechanicsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Herman D. Goodrich. A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Edwards and the Rev. Micah Voight officiating. Burial will follow in Ivor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
