She was born in Severn, N.C., a daughter of the late Ellie Clyde and Addie Barkley DeLoatche. She was a member of Boykins Baptist Church. 
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, T.R. Griffin; one daughter, Melonie Griffin of Franklin; one son, Michael T. Griffin of Richmond; one sister, Clorine D. Coates of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; one brother, Howard W. DeLoatche of Winchester, Va.; and one granddaughter, Megan E. Griffin of Richmond. 
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Beechwood Cemetery with the Rev. Ben Thomas officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boykins Baptist Church, 32057 Main St., Boykins, VA, or to Boykins Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 347, Boykins, VA 23827.
