Virginia Burgess Griffith, 62, of the 400 block of Hunterdale Road, a retired nurses' aide and a saleswoman, died Aug. 16, 1991, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Griffith was born in Hertford County, N.C. She was a saleswoman for Electrolux. She was a member and deaconess of Hunterdale United Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Henry T. Griffith; two daughters, Wanda G. Waters of Stokes, N.C., and Sharon G. Dunstan of Kitty Hawk; a son, Dennis T. Griffith of Franklin; her father, Floyd T. Burgess of Sedley; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Britt of Canton, N.C., and Vivian B. Hawkins of Elizabeth City; two brothers, F. William Burgess and J.T. Burgess, both of Sedley; and three grandchildren.

The graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. James X. Camak. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
