   SUFFOLK - Myrtle Griggs Fowler, 75, died May 25, 2002.
   Born May 22, 1927, in Gates County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Ocie and Carrie Whitehurst Griggs. Mrs. Fowler retired as a tea pack operator from Lipton Tea Company. She was a former member of Holy Neck United Church of Christ.
   She is survived by three sons, Melvin Lee Fowler Jr. of Chinquapin, N.C., Steve Fowler and Donnie Fowler of Suffolk; two sisters, Virginia Speight of Chesapeake and Melrose Burnette of Portsmouth; two brothers, Leslie Griggs of Suffolk and Joseph Griggs of Georgia; nine grandchildren, Wendy, Chris, Doug, Kim, Scott, Bree, Katie, Sarah and Andrew Fowler; a great-granddaughter, Maddison Adam Fowler; and several nieces and nephews.
   A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Rodgers with burial at Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue squard, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
