VIRGINIA PAGE GRIZZARD COBB
Virgie Grizzard Cobb, 90, a lifelong resident of Southampton County,
Va., and widow of Albert Ellis Cobb, died May 5, 2005, in Courtland, Va.
Born Sept. 16, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and
Ethel Harrison Grizzard. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. She
is survived by two sons, Paul A. Cobb and wife Shelva Lee and Ellis P.
Cobb and wife Eva Williams, both of Drewryville; a daughter, Martha Cobb
Hedgepeth and husband J. Emory of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and
13 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in
Hebron Baptist Church, Drewryville, with the Rev. Edmond E. Ellis
officiating.
Burial will follow in the Drewryville Cemetery. The family will be at
the residence, 26226 Drewry Road, Drewryville. Mrs. Cobb's body will be
placed in the church at noon Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to
the Capron Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad or the Alzheimer's
Association, Franklin Chapter. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is
handling arrangements.
