Bonnie Mae Guyton Hunnings, 88, widow of George Lee Hunnings, died March
25, 2004, at Tandem Healthcare. Born in Bladen County, N.C., she was a
daughter of the late William Murray and Mortie Bell Brissom Guyton. She
was a member of Hunterdale United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Hunnings and wife, Vickie, of Suffolk
and David H. Hunnings and wife, Vickie, of Franklin; a sister, Eloise G.
Parker of Portsmouth; a daughter-in-law, Marla Hunnings of Rocky Mount,
N.C.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces
and nephews including a special niece, Betty Lou Bowden and special
nephew, David Nichols. She was predeceased by two sons, Dick Hunnings
and Jim Hunnings; two sisters, Mary Lou Nichols and Juanita Bryant; two
brothers, W.M. Guyton Jr. and Caulder Guyton; and a grandson, Mark
Hunnings.
A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in Wright Funeral Home with
Chaplain Chandler Story Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar
Spring Cemetery . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the
service at the funeral home and suggest memorials be made to a favorite
charity.
