Hall, 80, of the 5300 block of Godwin Blvd., died Oct. 21, 2002, in Obici Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, she was a housewife and a member of New Bethany UCC where she was affiliated with the Pastor's Aide Committee, Missionary Committee, Deaconess Board, Women's Fellowship and Wednesday Prayer Band. The widow of Frank H. Hall Jr., she was also predeceased by her daughter, Lennis G. Hall. Survivors include her daughter, Carmela S. Hall-Varner; her son-in-law, Ronald Varner; grandchildren, Doren C. Hall, Chivas T. Bailey, Yashika S. Hall and Destinee F. Hall; great-grandchildren, Trent D. Hall, Lenasha G. Hall and Marcus T. Hopkins; sisters, Margaret Sweat of Suffolk and Ruth Blackmon of South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in New Bethany United Church of Christ, by Bishop Vernon Artis. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Her body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Viewing will be held at the church only.
