Obituary of Harriett Lloyd Hancock HARRIET LLOYD HUDGINS HANCOCK The Tidewater News - 03-08-2002 ANDERSON, S.C. - Harriett Lloyd Hancock, 84, died March 8 at the Anderson Area Medical Center. Born June 3, 1917, in Mecklenburg County, Mrs. Hancock was the daughter of the late Herbert Vermillion Hudgins and Helen Machen Hudgins Jacobs, and the widow of Dr. H. Jackson Hancock. In her early years, she was a nurse at the Medical College of Virginia. She was a member of grace Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Alter Guild and St. Catherines. She is survived by her son, Thomas Jackson Hancock of Anderson; her daughter, Helen Louisa Hancock Sablan of Tacoma, Wash.; the granddaughter, Sally Jackson Hancock of Anderson; and her grandson, Marshall David Sablan of Tacoma. A service for the celebration of life was held March 10 at Grace Episcopal Church with the Revs. Andy Anderson and Scott Baker officiating. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, March 12. The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, handled arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 711 S.
