Betty M. Harcum of Richmond died Thursday, March 1, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie C. Harcum; three sons, Thomas C. and his wife, Beverly, Les C. and his wife, Kennah, and Michael S. and his wife, Kathy; four grandchildren, Thomas Sean, Sarah Kathleen, Christopher S. and Stephen C. Harcum, all of Richmond; three sisters, Gay M. Womack of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla., Mary Lee Taylor of Newport News and Sue Flatow of Alexandria. Mrs. Harcum attended Newport News schools and the University of Virginia. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church with interment at 3:30 p.m. in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
