Florence H. Gale, 87 died May 26, 2003. She retired after 31 years as a cashier at Smithfield Packing Co.
   Mrs. Gale was predeceased by her husband, William Bernard Gale; her father, Floyd W. Harrell; her mother, Ruth S. Harrell; her sisters, Alese H. Smith, Marion H. Quesenberry; and brothers, Floyd Harrell and Cecil S. Harrell. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Uzzell United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Pamela Rae Seeley officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of her niece, Evelyn B. Ransdell, 1029 S. Church St., Smithfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Uzzell United Methodist Church, 318 Main St., Smithfield, Va. 23430 or to a charity of one's choice. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is handling arrangements.
