MARJORIE H GWALTNEY

Marjorie Harrell Gwaltney, 79, formerly of Suffolk, died Jan. 13, 2004,
in York County.

Born Nov. 17, 1924, in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Thomas
Coke and Nellie Mongan Harrell and widow of James Henry Gwaltney. Mrs.
Gwaltney was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in
Portsmouth. She formerly served as the credit manager for Knight Finance
in Suffolk for many years.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Frances G. and Dennis
Jarabak of York County; son and daughter-in- law, James H. and Doris
Gwaltney Jr. of Portsmouth; brothers, Edward "Billy" Harrell of Suffolk
and Jack Harrell of Waynesville, N.C.; grandchildren, Todd Gwaltney,
Lynn Bullock, Amy Yurksaitis; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Holly Lawn
Cemetery by the Rev. Ruth M. Burgess. The family will receive friends in
R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory today from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church,
3312 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth, VA 23703.
