Mr. Hassett was born in Philadelphia and was the widower of Agnes Sutton Hassett. He was a member of Franklin Pythian Lodge and was a charter member of Franklin Aviators Club. He was a former amateur boxer in Petersburg. Survivors include a stepson, Doug Gardner of Denver; three brothers, Harry Hassett, Abe Hassett and Jay Hassett, all of Franklin; and two grandchildren. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Michael J. Clingenpeel.
