Mildred Heath Gagner, a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Nov. 3, 1999, at her home.
Born in New Bern, N.C., Mrs. Gagner was a daughter of the late James Wood and Anne Armstrong Heath. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Jerome Justin Gagner; three daughters, Kathy G. Panikowski and her husband, Jim, of Courtland, Beth G. Buist and her husband, Mark, of Kennesaw, Ga., and Celia G. Jernigan of Indianapolis; three sons, Jerome J. ``Jay'' Gagner Jr. of Franklin, Kevin W. Gagner of Boykins and Chris J. Gagner and his wife, Gail, of Nazareth, Pa.; two brothers, James Heath of Orchard Park, N.Y., and David Heath of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Amy Panikowski, Justin Panikowski and Leigh Buist; two ``special'' daughters, Rita Schafer and her husband, Chris, and Pam Lease and her husband, Dave; four ``special'' grandchildren, Lindsay Schafer, Katie Schafer, Anna Schafer and Heath Dann; and three special friends, Donna Hodges, Nettie Cobb and Tootsie Boone.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Edward C. Johnson. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Gagner residence, 409 Clay St., Franklin. Memorials may be made to the High Street United Methodist Church Building Fund. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
