Mrs. Hedgepeth was born in Rocky Mount, N.C. She retired from Rogers Clothes, Chesapeake, and was a member of Holy Neck United Church of Christ in Suffolk and the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was predeceased by her parents, Teddie Jane Williams Padgett and Lewis Andrew Padgett. Survivors include her husband, Alfred M. Hedgepeth ; two daughters, April Dianne McClenney of Chesapeake and Cindy Jane Wilson of Suffolk; a son, Lewis McRay Hedgepeth of Sterling, Va.; three sisters, Mildred P . Peele of Capron, Va., Clara P . Powers of Bartow, Fla., and Eddrie P . Bradley of Chesapeake; a brother, Lewis A. Padgett Jr. of Winnsboro, S.C.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Neck United Church of Christ by the Rev. E. Cecil Smith. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends at the residence.
