Virginia Hedgepeth Holland, 76, died June 25, 2000, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born in Isle of Wight County, the daughter of the late Linwood Lee and Mary Annie Turner Hedgepeth. She was an avid gardner and a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church. 

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Raymond Edward Holland; a daughter, Sylvia H. Livesay and her husband, Michael, of Virginia Beach; two sons, Coleman R. Holland and his wife, Sherren, of Richmond and K. Chris Holland and his wife, Kathy, of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren, Robin Virginia Livesay, Nicole Holland, Clay Holland, Rachel and Rebecca Holland; and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Mason and Michele VanFossen. She was predeceased by two brothers, Wilton and Raby Hedgepeth, and her best friend, Mildred Livesay. 

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. James Lambeth officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, and suggests that memorials be made to the Franklin Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 179, Franklin, VA 23851.
