Hicks, 80, of the 1100 block of Cypress Chapel Road, died Dec. 6, 1999, at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. A native of Suffolk, Mr. Hicks was a son of the late Robert K. Hicks and Lizzie K. Hill Hicks. He retired as a bus driver for Trailways after more than 20 years of service and was former owner and operator of Suffolk Floral Gardens. He was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church and the Mens Bible Class. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Brinkley Hicks; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. John R. Kimball and the Rev. Willis I. Dowling. Burial will be in Cypress Chapel Christian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence.
