HOLLAND Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - May 28, 2003 Florence Holt Holland, 91, died May 27, 2003 in Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, Va. A native of Southampton County, Mrs. Holland was a daughter of the late Clifton and Mary Doyle Holt and was the widow of Charlie Shelton Holland. She was retired as a dental assistant and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and Sedley Baptist Church, where she was a longtime Sunday school and Bible class teacher. In November 2001, Mrs. Holland received recognition for 63 years of perfect attendance at Sedley Baptist Church. Mrs. Holland was predeceased by her daughter, Evelyn Holland Glascock and a sister, Myrtle H. Bulls. Survivors include her son-in-law, Jack Glascock Sr. of Mechanicsville; two grandsons, Jack Glascock Jr. of Mechanicsville and Michael W. Glascock and wife, Susie, of Sandston, Va., where Mrs. Holland had been living since November 2002; three great-grandchildren, Whitney M. Glascock, Jessica N. Bradley and Colby M. Sipe; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sedley Baptist Church with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. The burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery .
