NEWSOMS - Olivia Holloman O'Berry, 79, died Sunday, July 29, 2001 at the Village at Woods Edge.
Mrs. O'Berry, who was born in Southampton County, was the daughter of the late George Ray and Ada Cooke Holloman, and was the widow of James Franklin O'Berry. She was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a retired bookkeeper with Southampton Tractor Company. She was a former member of the Newsoms Woman's Club, and a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James H. O'Berry and his wife Vickie of Franklin; a daughter, Nancy O. Snelling of Fredericksburg, Va.; two granddaughters, Shannon Victoria O'Berry and Holly Michelle O'Berry.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Wright Funeral Home Chapel, Franklin, with the Rev. Gary Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . The family will receive friends at the home of Jimmie and Vickie O'Berry, 724 Chaucer Court, Franklin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Association, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 150, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301-5104 or Southampton Memorial Hospital Hospice, 102 N. Mechanic St., Franklin, VA 23851.
