Obituary of Warren Clayton Houchens WARREN CLAYTON HOUCHENS The Tidewater News - 06-12-2005 VIRGINIA BEACH - Warren C. Houchens, 77, of the 200 block of Weller Blvd., died June 9, the son of the late Charles R. and Rebecca Smith Houchesn. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Blanche Henderson Houshens. Mr. Houchens was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served in both World War II and Vietnam and retired after 20 years of service. He also retire from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a marine machinist. Survivors include his daughters, Anita H. Brennan of West Palm Beach, Fla., Dottie H. James of Strongsville, Ohio, Rebecca H. Braswell, Rhonda H. Miller and Shannon H. Tialavea, all of Norfolk; and eight grandchildren, Warren and Julie James, Lucas and Jesse Braswell, Timmy Brock, Stephen Miller, Beth Schwartz and Elijah Tialavea; and wife, Violet Houchens. A graveside service was held June 13 with full military honors in Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, by the Rev. Ray Hampton.
